Pais & Filhos, written by Pedro Penim based on the Russian classic written in 1862 by Ivan Turgueniev, was the title of a show that premiered at the São Luiz Municipal Theatre in 2021. In the continuity of the creator’s shows that work on the duplicity between the biographical document and the creation of a fictional universe, Penim – who was in a parenting project through the process of gestation by surrogacy – sought to deepen the debate on filiation and the family by expanding Pais & Filhos to a dimension that goes beyond a personal story. On the occasion of the publication of the text in book form by ed.___________, a joint venture between Teatro Praga and the publishing house Sistema Solar, writers Anabela Mota Ribeiro, José Vieira Mendes and Pedro Rapoula were invited to launch the work. A unique moment of sharing many visions.
